Inspiring Women to Explore the World

From early childhood many little girls learn how to cook, clean, and take care of others. Intentionally or unintentionally, we are trained to be the strong foothold of the family…

Why Passport

When I first traveled to China in 2000 to teach English, I was a single young woman looking for a wild and exciting adventure. Now, 20 years later, I’m a wife and mother of four living a different kind of adventure – raising four kids abroad is no joke! We have a goal to experience life to its fullest and learn something from each country we visit.

I hope that my journey and evolution inspires you to know that no matter what your situation in life, single and unmarried, a single mom, or a mom with a few kids, you too can have an adventure and even share it with your family.

About Me

I really have no idea how the daughter of sharecroppers from Mt. Gilead, North Carolina ended up living and working in Asia, speaking Chinese fluently, and holding more than 10 currencies at any point in time. But it happened – and it is the story of my life.

This blog is all about how I escaped challenges in America, set out to explore the world, and wrote my own ticket for my career – all while raising four kids.

If you are a woman who is considering moving abroad and has been looking for resources and inspiration. Look no further! Stay a while, look around, and connect with the greater community of women expats on Passport on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram.
